The Idea

After getting into a bit of leather craft over the holidays I decided it's time I built myself some useful stuff. The first of these is a leather apron I can use to do BBQ but also in and around the shop as I craft up other things.

The Materials

  • 4oz-5oz Double Shoulder Vegetable Tan Leather - to make the apron and pockets
  • 7oz-8oz Vegetable Tan Leather - to make straps
  • 28x rivets of choice
  • 1x stud connector
  • 1x 1.5" D ring
  • 1x 2" D ring
  • Waxed shoe/leather thread

The Tools

  • Ruler or Square
  • Exact-o Knife or another knife to cut the leather with
  • 3mm hole punch
  • 6mm hole punch
  • 4mm diamond pricking irons
  • Maul or Mallet or Hammer
  • Slicker
  • Awl
  • Bevel Stamp
  • Leather molding picks
  • 2x Leather sewing needles
  • Bevel Stamp
  • Rivet setter
  • Sponge
  • Tupperware box
  • 2x towels (not microfibre)

The Consumables

  • Feibing's Pro Dye: Light Brown
  • Feibing's Leather Balm with Atom Wax
